Nick’s Cottage

Come and holiday at “Nick’s cottage”, located on our lifestyle block at Staveley, midst the foothills of Mid Canterbury.


“Nick’s cottage” is self-contained accommodation, tastefully rustic and situated amongst a large park like setting featuring extensive native planting and an established garden. This country cottage has stunning views of Mt Somers, ideal for a couple, families, or a group of friends for a weekend getaway or retreat where walks, tramping, skiing, golf, fishing and hunting are all at the back door.


Staveley is 75 mins drive from Christchurch International airport, and 15 minutes from Methven, a local ski town with a wide array of cafes and restaurants.


Mt Hutt ski field access is just 15mins away, internationally renowned and great facilities to cater for all levels of skier and snowboarder. Close to several walking tracks for all levels of fitness,  Mt Somers and  Hakatere Conservation Parks, Lake Heron and the breathtaking landscape of “Lord of the Rings” movie site. We are happy to make bookings for activities and tours for you.


Relax in our garden with the sound of the birds, surrounding views and on request you can be serenaded by Muz with his guitar and singing around a camp fire. Enjoy our farm animals; sheep, horses, pigs and sheep dogs or take in the many outdoor activities available close to us.


Within  5 minutes we have a historical and geological centre, Staveley store and coffee shop, argo rides, ice skating rink, eco tours, mountain beech forest and the start of Mt Somers Track with safe vehicle storage.
